Thassos is easily accessible by a short boat-trip, there is no airport on the island. Ferries depart from the mainland via the ports of Kavala or Keramoti, and arrive on the island at either Skala Prinos or Limenas.
WHERE TO FIND US
The Kavala-Skala Prinos ferry leaves approximately five times per day and takes about 75 minutes. When you arrive at Skala Prinos turn right at the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue past Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachis, Skala Maries, Limenaria, until you reach Potos.
The closest airport to Thassos is in the city of Kavala (Alexander the Great airport), located close to Chrysoupolis on the outskirts of Kavala, only 17 kilometers from the Keramoti harbor. There are daily flights to and from Athens, as well as numerous charter flights from all over Europe.
From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thassos Town), the capital of Thassos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. From Limenas, by car or bus, turn right at the ring road and follow the signs for Prinos from that point it is the same as the above directions (Kavala/Skala Prinos).
The Odos Ignatia (E90) runs across the north of Greece, from Igoumenitsa to Turkey and passes both Kavala and Keramoti.
